The Pilates Center Teacher Training Program

Interested in becoming a certified instructor with Romana’s Pilates? The Pilates Center at Goucher College offers a 600 hour teacher training program guided by a Level IV Romana's Pilates teacher trainer. Contact the Pilates Center director, Stephanie Lawson for more information.

* Can be completed in our studio under the supervision of Stephanie Lawson, Romana's Pilates Level IV Instructor.

Pre-Requisites

* Candidate must be proficient in the Intermediate Level of the Pilates Method.
* Candidate must undergo and pass an initial assessment with a Romana's Pilates Instructor Trainer (Level I, II, III, or IV).

Stage 1 (Basic)

All elements of stage 1 to be completed within a 2-5 month timeframe.
Group Seminar: Attend a Basic Seminar taught by a Romana's Pilates Level I, II, or III Instructor.
* Independent Study: Complete 200-300 training hours under direct supervision of a Romana's Pilates Instructor Trainer (Level I, II, III, or IV). 600 hours combined stages 1-3.
* Private Lessons: 5+ lessons with a Romana's Pilates Instructor Trainer (Level I, II, III, or IV).
Basic Test: Complete the Stage 1 Assessment (practical assessment only) with a Romana's Pilates Level I, II, or III Instructor.

Stage 2 (Intermediate)

All elements of stage 1 to be completed within a 2-5 month timeframe.
Group Seminar: Attend an Intermediate Seminar taught by a Romana's Pilates Level I or II Instructor.
* Independent Study: Complete 200-300 training hours under direct supervision of a Romana's Pilates Instructor Trainer (Level I, II, Ill, or IV). 600 hours combined stages 1-3.
* Private Lessons: 5+ lessons with a Romana's Pilates Instructor Trainer (Level I, II, III, or IV).
Intermediate Test: Complete the Stage 2 Assessment (practical & written) with a Romana's Pilates Level I or II Instructor.

Stage 3 (Advanced)

All elements of stage 1 to be completed within a 2-5 month timeframe.
Group Seminar: Attend an Advanced Seminar taught by a Romana's Pilates Level I Instructor.
* Independent Study: Complete 200-300 training hours under direct supervision of a Romana's Pilates Instructor Trainer (Level I, II, III, or IV). 600 hours combined stages 1-3.
* Private Lessons: 5+ lessons with a Romana's Pilates Instructor Trainer (Level I, II, III, or IV).
Advanced Test: Complete the Stage 3 Assessment (practical & written) with a Romana's Pilates Level I Instructor.
